Hello! Thank you for being here and visiting my site, maybe reading some of my work. It means so much to me.
If you’ve made it this far, I’d love to tell you a little bit about myself.
I am 21 years old, studying Television, Radio, and Film at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School, minoring in Creative Writing. I feel so lucky to study language and story in the place where so many of my greatest inspirations passed through - Raymond Carver, George Saunders, Tobias Wolff, Mary Karr...
I look at life in terms of stories, themes, characters. I listen to my thoughts and other people’s words as if they’re incongruent pieces of a poem. Meaningful conversation is what makes me feel most alive. I have experience working for Flaunt Magazine (a leading pop-culture magazine in Los Angeles), BOMB Magazine (one of the oldest art and literary magazines in Brooklyn, New York), and Starburns Industries (a production company specializies in animated content that aims to tell stories that are "funny, strange, sad, and beautiful."
I dream of being a writer, an editor, a filmmaker, a teacher.
This year, I Co-Founded Syracuse University’s first independent, art-house film production club, Matchbox Films, where I am the head of the screenwriting department. I am quite involved with the college magazine scene, writing various articles for different publications, and working as Print Editor for one.
I believe that emotional honesty, intimacy, tenderness, and compassion are the key components of a fulfilling story and a fulfilling life. Always eager to connect with other creatives, never hesitate to email audreyweisburd7@gmail.com
